In 2007, the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City created the first HBAGKC scholarship open to all Greater Kansas City Hispanic law school students. Hispanic students attending either the University of Missouri Kansa City School of Law or The University of Kansas School of Law are eligible to apply. HBAGKC scholarships monies are held with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF).

The HBAGKC mentoring program, Reaching New Heights: Hispanic Lawyers for Tomorrow, began in 2007 as a way to encourage more Hispanics to enter the legal profession and to ensure the success of Hispanic law students upon graduation from law school. The program consists of Hispanic attorneys mentoring law students and law students mentoring undergraduates interested in attending law school.  Through events and gatherings students have an opportunity to meet and discuss areas of concern and make contacts to enhance their professional networking.
